HAPPY NEW YEAR!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!  I hope you all are enjoying your time off from school!  I just wanted to let you all know that you should have received a postcard in the mail from me a few days ago.  The postcard was to let you know that Champions for Christ youth group will be meeting at the Community Center on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 8:30.  Students in grades 5-12 are welcomed and encouraged to attend!  We will play games, hang out, have a short lesson, and as always, we will have FUN!  I look forward to see you all there and check this website for OPEN GYM times and fun events that are coming up!  Take it easy!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!  I had a most excellent time this December hanging out with all of you!  Whether it was at the Community Center shooting hoops or at church talking about staying "connected", I had a blast!  Coming in January, starting on the 6th, we will be meeting at the Community Center on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.  There will be some free time, some organized games, a short Bible study, and then more games!  Also, keep your eyes peeled for an event coming on January 16th!  I wish you all a merry Christmas and I pray that you will take time to focus on Jesus this holiday season...after all, it is His birthday party =]  See you in January!

Yo!  I hope you all had a GREAT Thanksgiving!  No matter how much I eat and I just can never seem to get enough turkey!  Anyways, this Wednesday we are back at it!  We will be meeting at the Community Alliance Church in the lower level from 6:30-8:30 p.m.  We will play some games, hang out, talk, chill, and look at what it means to be "Connected".  I hope that you are able to make it out for this fun night!  See ya there!

NO OPEN GYM THIS NEXT WEDNESDAY!

Hey guys!  I had a great time last night at our Ping Pong Challenge!  Congratulations to Abel Palkie who went home with the grand prize of the night - a $25 gift card to Applebees!  Also, we extend our congratulations to Allison Nelson who took home the runner-up prize.  She went away with a Mega-Size box of Mike n' Ikes!  For the rest of November we will not be meeting on Wednesday nights at the Community Center.  You are all still welcome to come on Thursday and Saturday evenings from 6-8 p.m.  If you need to know if we will be open or not the schedule is on this website on the right hand column....just scroll down.  This Wednesday if you are looking for something to do, I invite you to attend our Thanksgiving Eve Service at Community Alliance Church at 7 p.m.  Other than that have a great Thanksgiving break and enjoy time with family and friends as you celebrate all that you are blessed with!  It's been a fun month!  Later!

Prepare for a Ping Pong Challenge this coming Wednesday!!

Hey guys!!  Dodgeball was tight!  I had a lot of fun and I hope that you did too!!  We will definitely have to play that again soon!!  Next Wednesday the Community Center will be open and we will be having a single elimination ping pong tournament!  There is a $20 prize for the winner so you best be brushing up on your pong skills now!  I won't be playing this time so don't fear!  You won't have to face Levi :P  Thanks to everyone who came and played dodgeball!  Let's have fun next week playing ping pong and other games too!  If you want more information feel free to contact me through e-mail: bordeslk@hotmail.com.  Have a great day!

This Coming Wednesday!

Hey everybody!  I hope you had a great time at our floor hockey night!  All you students grades 5-12 be  sure to come next Wednesday to the Community Center from 6-8 p.m. for some sweet games of dodgeball and maybe even more.  If you want to know what more could be you will have to come find out for yourself next Wednesday, November 11th from 6-8 p.m.  Don't get your hopes up of hitting me with a dodgeball...I'm pretty much a dodgeball master!  Hope to see you there!

Fundraising Opportunities

Save those pop cans and bring them to Pastor Levi!  We can score some extra change for our trip to Life 2010'!!!  Some other fundraiser opportunities coming are:

October 18th after the Talent Show we will be serving Ice Cream Sundaes and taking a free-will offering.  If you can help serve the Sundaes that evening it would be great!  The Talent Show starts at 6:00 p.m.!

November 1st, following the morning worship service we will be serving lunch and taking a free will offering.  If you can help with that please do let Levi know as soon as possible!

Next Wednesday we will continue our "Love Actually" series!  Be sure to come prepared and remember whoever can sing I Corinthians 13:4-7 first to me gets $10!  Bring a notebook to take some notes, a good attitude, and hey a friend would be cool too!!

This Wednesday...

Hi guys!  Just thought I would give you the inside scoop on what's happening this month at Youth Group!  For the next three weeks we will be doing a study entitled "Love Actually".  We will be looking at what love actually looks like and how we can apply that to our everyday lives.  I hope to see you all there for the beginning of this exciting new series on October 7th!  Also at the end of the month we will be having another PAUSE night!  Be sure to make it out to Youth Group on October 28th for some praise and worship followed by an inspiring challenge from God's Word!

THIS WEDNESDAY!!!

This Wednesday, September 30th, we will be heading to Brainerd for the 44th B.A.Y. Rally!  We will be leaving the church at 6:10 p.m. and if you would like to go you need a signed note from your parent giving you permission to attend this event.  We may stop at McDonald's in Garrison afterwards so you might want to bring some spare change for cheeseburger, ice cream cone, or whatever it is that you like.  If you have any questions give me a call!  Have a great day!

Arrrrrrr ye ready for a challenge?!

Hey everybody!  I just wanted to update you all on what's going on for the rest of September.  Remember, that next week we will not be having Youth Group but will instead be listening to Jay Howard upstairs in the sanctuary if you'd like to join us.  For more information on Jay Howard and when he is speaking, contact the church office.  Please do remember as well that next Wednesday the 23rd is "See You At The Pole"!  I encourage you all to attend and to stand up for what you believe in and show people that you love Jesus!  Lastly, don't miss our late nite mini golf adventure at Pirate's Cove!  The plan is to leave the church at 7:00 p.m. and play a round of mini golf.  There will be a prize for the winner and then afterwards we will be going to Applebees for some appetizers!  For more information on this event contact me by calling the church office.  I hope you are all having a great day!  Remember to  practice your mini golf skills...I don't want to win to0 easily :P

School is now in session!

It's labor day today and that means that tomorrow school in Minnesota will once again be in session.  Before you begin to moan and groan at the though of homework, tests, and quizzes take a moment to think about what we have learned at Youth Group this summer...

We learned about Jesus and how He lived.  We learned that he cared for people and met their needs.  We learned that he stood up for what was right even when it wasn't popular.  We learned that Jesus ultimately conquered sin, death, and the grave for us so that we could have a second chance to live for Him.

Knowing these things and knowing that we who claim to be in Him need to walk like Jesus, I challenge you this fall to make an impact for Christ in your school.  You have a tremendous opportunity before you to reach your friends for Christ and to share his love and kindness with them.  Don't be afraid to stand up for your faith and to do what is right!  Live like Jesus: care for people, reach out to those in need.  Jesus has conquered sin and death and has given us the strength and ability through the Holy Spirit to live for Him and represent Him to our teachers, bus drivers, friends, coaches and others.  This fall instead of just taking tests and doing homework...let's make an impact for the Gospel of Jesus Christ!  What is it that you can do this fall to show Jesus to others?

Hey everyone!!  Make sure you don't miss our second annual Fourth of July Chill and Grill.  This year we will be meeting at the Palkie's house again for some laid back outdoor lawn games and some awesome BBQ food!  We also are planning on having a bonfire before the fireworks start and who knows we might even get to play some NUKE EM'!!  Be sure to make it out!  The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and ends when the fireworks are done!  Hope to see you all there as we continue to celebrate independence in style :)

Hey guys!  For all of you who came out to Youth Group tonight I thank you!  I think we had a good time of fun and learning!  I just thought I would throw this book out there for anyone who was interested in learning more about dating and what not.  This book spoke volumes to me and a Biblical perspective on relationships and I would encourage you to read it.

Also!  Please do not forget that next week we are going to the B.A.Y. rally in Brainerd, MN.  They will be concluding their series called, "Epic"!  We leave at 5:30 pm so please arrive at the church at 5:15 pm.  I hope you all can make it out and help serve by doing the offering for the service!

New Series Coming Soon!

Hey everybody!!  Hope you have been having a great week and are looking forward to the weekend!  Last Wednesday, we finished up our series: When God Wants To Use You: A Tale of Two Choices.  It was a fun two weeks as we looked into the lives of Samson and Gideon and saw how their choices had a real impact on how God was able to use them.  When we looked at Samson we saw that he had amazing potential to be used by God but his choices led him down the wrong path and eventually led to his death.  The moral of that story is that our choices affect who we are, who we become, and how God can use us.  in Gideon's case he was nothing like Samson.  He had no profound skills or talents yet he made a simple choice to trust God to use him and the Lord did just that!  Just like Gideon, God calls us to do things that may seem hard or illogical but He always gives us a choice and that choice is to trust Him or not to trust Him.  What are some areas in your life where you could choose to trust God more?

Alright!  Enough recap!  I am most pleased to announce that this coming Wednesday we will begin our new series entitled: God's Economy: Living Backwards

We hear a lot about the economy these days but what does God's economy really look like?  How does He work?  What does living backwards really mean??  To find out, come on out to Youth Group on March 11th as we begin to look at the word "economy" from a different angle.

And The Winner Is...

Congratulations to those of you who voted for our Youth Sunday theme to be Hollywood!  In the next few weeks we will begin to brainstorm for decorating ideas and other things!

Also thank you for another good night of youth group!  Remember that your choices have a big impact on who you are and who you will become so make sure that they are lining up with God's standards!  

Next week we will be finishing our series called, "When God Wants To Use You: A Tale of Two Choices".  We will be looking at another person from the Bible and their story is found in Judges 6-8.  Check it out this week!

Two more things!  Remember to check out Psalm 33 this week and start memorizing those first five verses!  If you do one a day you'll be set by Wednesday!  Hope to see everyone in Sunday School as Mr. Reem continues teaching from Colossians chapter 4.

Hey everybody!

I hope you are all enjoying our website!  Some of you have told me that our Youth Sunday poll is having issues and I apologize for the problems.  On Wednesday we will be having a formal vote to choose our theme for this year.

In other news, this week we begin a New Series that I am extremely excited about!  The series title is below:

We will be discussing the life of a Biblical character and looking at how his choices affected how God was able to use him.  Many of you already know that the character we will be looking at this week is Samson from Judges 13-16.  If you haven't checked out those chapters yet, let this video below wet your appetite for this coming Wednesday night!  Oh and remember please bring your Bible and friends are cool too!

Hey everyone!
